This simulates a slide on a concrete surface at a road speed of approximately 75 mph (120 km/h). The material passes the test if it does not develop a hole larger than 5mm in any direction after the abrasion. This demanding requirement provides riders with the highest level of assurance that their gear is built to withstand the intense forces of a high-speed slide, offering critical protection when it is needed most.
