Super Fiber Laminate Shell:

• The Super Fiber Laminate shell with Z-compound boasts a smooth area around the temple is increased by an average of 24mm - thanks to the VAS-Z shield system. Having a rounder, smoother shell that isn't compromised by the face shield mount creates a stronger shell with improve glance-off ability - should the helmet make contact with the ground or obstacles. 

VAS-Z Variable Axis Shield:

• With a dual-pivot hinge mechanism, the VAS-Z face shield benefits from a lower mount and wide range of motion. With the attachment point made lower on the helmet shell, the temple area and entire Snell test line is made significantly stronger. 

Single Piece EPS Liner:

• A one-piece, multi-density EPS liner Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is a rigid, energy absorbing foam. In the helmet industry, EPS is the most common means of energy management to protect the brain. Generic EPS is often referred to as “Styrofoam” (a trademarked name owned by the Dow Chemical Company). Premium helmet producers utilize multi-density EPS liners to balance comfort, safety and performance. blends all densities of EPS into a single mold. With all layers unified, the various densities work better together during an impact and creates a helmet with a smaller overall profile.

Top Tier Touring:

• The Ram-X includes a clear, full length face shield for good coverage against wind and the elements. In the box, a VAS-Z Pinlock A Pinlock lens is made to enjoy a fog-free ride. It is based on two key principles to ensure a fog-free vision. The moisture absorbing surface of the lens effectively attracts and stores water molecules, while the airtight seal creates a thermal barrier together preventing condensation of the visor. The system is kept in place by positioning the lens between two adjustable pins, making Pinlock the number one anti-fog solution for helmets. 120 anti-fog insert is included - a rare luxury outside of the realm of full face helmets. Adding to the list, Arai's Pro Shade sun visor with dark smoke sun shade is also included.

With the Ram-X, Arai takes a leap forward from the company's previous premium open-face touring helmet, the XC. The Ram-X features the newly designed VAS-Z shield system with a lower pivot point providing smooth actuation and improved safety. In a nod to touring riders, the Ram-X includes a Pinlock anti-fog insert and Pro Shade System out of the box - which provides the convenience of a drop down sun visor without compromising the shell and thus safety of the helmet.
