SPIDI Beta Evo Light: the urban commuting motorcycle coat combining high thermal insulation and extreme lightness. The 3-layer laminated outer fabric with H2Out Items branded as “H2OUT” are equipped with a special micro-porous waterproof, windproof, breathable membrane, that Spidi created after long term studies and testing in cooperation with big Japanese textile group Toray.Spidi technicians created H2OUT membrane specifically for motorcycling, when water and wind soak through the fabric, and bodytemperature tends to drop if the right protection is missing.The exclusive H2OUT membrane is transpiring and prevents humidity to penetrate the garments, granting the rider the high comfortlevel required to keep the best concentration while on the bike: an essential premise for a safe ride.Thanks to the collaboration with Japanese company Toray, Spidi has been testing the performance of their gear using the Technorama artificial weather simulator for more than 20 years. Technorama simulates extreme riding environments in which Safety Lab technicians are able to better understand the performance of materials and solutions implemented in the collection. waterproof and breathable membrane has the advantage of being very comfortable, allowing this jacket to be worn over casual clothes. This jacket is CE prEN 17092-2:2017 Class A certified thanks to the standard Warrior Light protectors on shoulders and elbows. Level 1 and Level 2 Warrior back protectors are available as options (sold separately.)

• CE approved to EN17092-4:2020 as a Class A garment A CE Level A rating, governed by the EN 17092-4:2020 standard, signifies that a garment is designed to offer a baseline level of protection for urban or casual riding at lower speeds. To achieve this classification, the materials in the most vulnerable areas of the garment, known as Zone 1 (typically shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees), undergo rigorous testing.
  The key test for abrasion resistance is performed on a specialized machine called the Darmstadt tester. In this test, a sample of the garment's material is subjected to a simulated slide on a concrete surface. For a garment to earn the A rating, the material in Zone 1 must withstand a rotational speed of approximately 265.4 revolutions per minute (rpm) on the Darmstadt machine. This is designed to replicate a slide at a road speed of approximately 28 mph (45 km/h). The material passes the test if it does not develop a hole larger than 5mm in any direction after the abrasion. It is important to note that this abrasion test is just one component of the comprehensive testing required for certification. To earn the final rating, the garment must also pass rigorous standards for tear resistance, seam strength, the impact protection performance of the included armor, and additional factors.
