Bell Moto-10 Mips Spherical
How does the Mips® safety system
How does the Mips® safety system work? The brain is typically more sensitive to rotational motion than linear motion because it has shear properties similar to water or gel. When different parts of the brain move relative to each other because of rotational motion, the tissues can stretch, which can cause concussions or other brain injuries. Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions and more severe brain injury in oblique hits to the head. The Mips® safety system consists of a low friction layer mounted inside the helmet. In a crash, the low friction layer is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head. This is intended to help reduce the risk of brain injury. work? The brain is typically more sensitive to rotational motion than linear motion because it has shear properties similar to water or gel. This sliding layer helps reduce the rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts, thereby lowering the risk of such injuries. Helmet
Bell welcomes the newest evolution of racing helmets to their vast collection: The Moto-10. Born from the needs of top athletes around the world, the Moto-10 is Bell's most advanced off-road helmet that sets a new industry standard. This helmet not only boast ample amounts of protection, but also has advanced technologies for cooling and comfort throughout. The Moto-10's segmented shell design provides a large exhaust vent, ensuring the rider stays comfortable an cool. Combined with 3K Carbon, you'll be riding in style and perform like no other when you attack the track. The spherical technology features a ball and socket design that helps redirect impact forces away from the brain, allowing the outer liner to rotate around the inner liner in the event of a crash. This helmet features a ventilation system called Thermal Exchange Airflow System (T.E.A.S.), which is so extreme that is sucks cool air like a vacuum and then expels hot air through the side and rear exhaust ports.
When it comes to protection, it's not just the interior of the Moto-10 that's protecting the rider, it's the exterior as well. No Missed Races It’s not just the interior of the Moto-10 that’s protecting the rider, it’s the exterior as well. Two NMR™ (No Missed Races) bumpers are integrated on either side of the helmet. These bumpers are made with a softer EPP material that compresses under load but bounces back to its original form, helping to reduce the likelihood of further injury caused from the helmet contacting your body. While no crash is good, a broken collar bone will keep you out of the Championship. Bumpers (NMR) are made with a softer EPP material that compresses under load but bounces back to it's original form, helping to reduce the likelihood of further injuries caused from the helmet contacting your body. The goggle port on this helmet is currently the largest in the market - the wider port provides better fitment, optimal sealing and a massive field of view. The panoramic goggle port will increase your visibility and safety when needed most. To go along with the ample amount of cooling features and protection, the Flying bridge visor design allows more flexibility and improves airflow across the helmet. By not using a traditional center post and screw concept, the amount of energy management is able to increase material in the high impact zone. If you're looking for the next big helmet that comes with all the bells and whistles - the Bell Moto-10 will perform like no other.

- DOT and SNELL 2020 The SNELL Memorial Foundation is still largely considered the gold standard for helmet safety. SNELL M2020 certification uses the most aggressive anvil profile, known as an edge anvil, and demands a ridiculously low 275 g maximum energy transfer after two blows. SNELL testing is designed with the energy levels and safety requirements of the racetrack in mind, and this is reflected in the additional testing for characteristics such as stability and ease of removal in an emergency. SNELL technicians look for the weakest point in the helmet and target that point when testing. Technicians will strike multiple locations, testing until they are satisfied an accurate indication of the helmet’s energy-management ability has been attained. Also listed as SNELL M2020D.
